About the Artist - Melinda Lennen

Melinda Lennen was born in Melbourne in 1962, weighing only 2lb 12oz. As a child, she spent 2 1/2 years in Germany and Europe with her parents, brother and sister. She was educated in Canberra and spent 7 years in Northern New South Wales before moving to Tully in 1986 on the day of Cyclone Winifred. She worked at the Tully Mill and with a veterinary surgeon before starting her own business in 1998.

Her art career began after a serious horseriding accident, when she was too ill to continue her business. Trying alternaitves, she did her first painting while still recovering in hospital.

Melinda has been passionate about painting since then, discovering many styles, challenges & studies, while horses remain her favourite subject.
